What a good day! We have a project lined up to fix the damage that a mama groundhog has wreaked! She chose to have her little groundhog babies under the carport…the concrete carport slab to be precise. The dogs helped her with her access, they can be massive diggers when left unsupervised. As a result, there is an impressive crack in the carport concrete slab.
In front of this damage were some pretty ugly boxwoods. They weren’t always ugly, but a couple of severe winters crippled them. Several were dead and the others, well…just not pretty. I dug most of them out today and am confident the pain will be with me for a while.
The plan, if commissions and closings will cooperate, is to smooth out the dirt and have a concrete truck come up to pump concrete under the carport to fill in the mama groundhog tunnels. We also will have a nice flat pad poured outside of the carport to rest a larger propane tank. Eventually, we will have a concrete porch under the deck…but that will probably be next year.
Tomorrow we will see if we can get our client into the house she is buying to do some measurements. Ordinarily, that wouldn’t be a big deal getting a client into a vacant house that she has under contract. This contract, however has been anything but ordinary. We now have to contend with another real estate agent trying to engage us in some twisted power play. Yep, it happens.
We also have an Open House coming up on Thursday at one of our listings. We had such a good response when we invited attorneys, lenders, past clients and other real estate agents that we will follow the same playbook. The menu will be a cold tuna pasta salad, maybe some homemade applesauce and something yummy for dessert.
Wish you could be there too!
