My most faithful reader tells me that it is more than time now for a new blog. As usual, she’s right.
Lots going on. Most importantly, huge family health issues in Florida. Those concerns are with me day in and day out.
Remember the singlewide contract? It is still hanging in there. NEVER TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED!!! Who could have predicted that a seller with a General Warranty Deed would have a piece of property without a deeded right of way to the property? Not only does the seller have that problem…the whole neighborhood has that problem. The attorney is now working with all of the residents to create a road right of way. Looks like it was the result of shoddy attorney work during the last sale. Same attorney for both parties, buyer and seller. This is the 3rd instance we know of lately that has convinced us to never, ever recommend the sharing of an attorney for closing.
I’ve been showing a lot of houses, working with what seem to be earnest buyers. Listings are still coming in. Still more sellers than buyers. If trends were to continue as they have, the Absorption Rate for houses in our local MLS (absorption rate is the length of time it would take to sell all listings) is approximately 2.8 years. Of course, the rate is higher in different price ranges. The experts say that once the Absorption Rate is lower than 6 months we return to a Sellers Market.
Buddy, our big black dog is still hanging in there. Winter will be coming soon and it seems that is the roughest season for infirm pets. It is a rare day now that I don’t have sets of blankets to wash for him twice a day.
Lazerkitty seems to actually be gaining weight. She does eat regularly now, but it is quite the production. Because of the kidney disease, we have to be careful of the amount of protein in her food. She eats often, but in small amounts. It also MUST be garnished with crumbs from my homemade Cream of Wheat bread. Go figure.
I’m irritated with myself for lack of ambition with my walking. Trying to pinpoint why the reluctance. Might be the injured (maybe broken) toe, the fact that it is now dark out at the time I used to walk or as I re-read this blog…by the time I’m done taking care of the dogs and cats I’m out of the mood. Guess I need to get over that.
Have a good day.
